The Flu Season: Common Respiratory Viruses

the-flu-season-common-respiratory-viruses

The holiday season is coming, and so is flu season. It usually starts in December and goes on until February. Everyone is advised to take precautions to avoid acquiring winter-related illnesses. Aside from common colds and flu viruses, here are the common respiratory viruses that people can acquire during this period:

  • Rhinovirus
  • Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
  • Human Parainfluenza Viruses (HPIV)
  • Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV)
  • Respiratory Adenoviruses

Some of these are the most common cause of severe respiratory illness in young children, as well as a leading cause of death from respiratory illness in those aged 65 years and older.

Of course, the coronavirus is still around, and we must still keep our guards up to prevent massive transmissions from happening again. As a Retail Pharmacy in Union City, New Jersey, we wish our community to remain healthy and away from sicknesses.

In that case, people must eat healthy and nutrient-rich food, stay active and exercise, and maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness. Social distancing is no longer strictly implemented, but there is no harm in keeping a safe distance from others or avoiding crowded people during events. You may also stack on vitamin and mineral supplements from a Pharmacy as added protection against these viruses.
